About Us
Bel Porto School is situated in Lansdowne, Cape Town, and focuses on education and therapy for learners with high levels of support needed in the following three domains: Motor, Learning and Cognition and Neurological and Neuro-developmental impairments.
We endeavour to support, educate and enrich our pupils’ lives so that they may become:

Our Vision is to be a Professional Knowledge Centre for the high educational and therapeutic support needs of learners with Severe/moderate Intellectual and co-occurring impairments to access the Curriculum

Programmes
Educational and Therapy
Our programmes are aimed to develop maximum independence and life skills. Therapies available at our school include Speech, Occupational and Physical therapies to meet the needs of students.
Auxiliary Services
A full suite of care
Our team of trained professionals are geared towards helping our students thrive. This includes access to medical doctors, an on-site school nurse, highly trained class assistants for every class, student training and drivers who operate a fleet of buses.
Learner Support
Making sure all students are heard
All learners are assessed annually to determine the need for enrichment, extended or adjusted learning support. Learners are grouped in classes where their strengths are developed optimally.

From multipurpose centres to interactive whiteboards, our staff and students use modern tools to support their development and growth in an ever changing technological world.
The Bel Porto Foundation
The Bel Porto Foundation was established in 1994 as the fundraising and marketing division of the Bel Porto School Governing Body.
The Foundation’s sole mandate is fundraising and marketing in the best interest of Bel Porto School. The foundation is managed by a Management Committee. The Foundation’s Chairperson, as member of the Bel Porto School Governing Body, gives regular feedback to the Governing Body.
